D4 GSM Dialer and SMS Sender (7-in 2-out)
The D4 GSM remote monitoring and control system features 4 digital input channels, 2 analogue input channels and 2 low voltage, volt-free relay outputs.
Digital inputs can be directly connected to open collector transistor outputs as typically found in burglar alarm panels. They can also be connected to volt-free relay contacts, typically found in fire alarm panels whether Normally Open (NO) or Normally Closed (NC). Dialing is started and SMS messages can be sent when the input is driven either high, low or both.
Analogue inputs can measure voltages between 0V and 36VDC. An upper voltage for each input can be set above which an SMS message will be sent and (optionally) dialing will commence. Similarly a lower threshold voltage can also be set below which SMS sending and dialing will commence.
Output relays are available as an optional extra (please see accessories page). Up to two independent low voltage volt-free relay outputs are available. Dialling the SIM card number from a registered phone will activate the # relay by default. Texting on/off will activate the * relay. Using the */# suffix each relay can be controlled by SMS at any time:
Relays can be operated using the Advent Controls Client Software available from the Advent Controls website Downloads page.
Part of the X5 range of remote monitoring and control systems, PC software allows full access to the memory using a PC remotely over the internet. Numbers can be removed or added and settings can be changed using this software.
Programming is performed by SMS text using real word command like 'add' and 'remove' and can be done remotely at any time. There are no annoying passwords to remember as you are identified to the system by your mobile number.
A complete list of accepted telephone numbers can be viewed via SMS text message. Additionally the memory can be scanned to find an individual number with the result displayed by an on-board LED and SMS text.
Balance checking is available using the FORWARD, SMS and DIAL commands (see manual).

Our optional sticky backed antenna makes installation quick and simple however this can only be mounted on non-metallic thin surfaces. Various antennas are available from our wesbite - please see 'Accessories'.
When deciding on which network to use we recommend that you search on the network provider home page to ensure you will receive a good signal in your geographic location. For PAYG we recommend O2 PAYG Classic or ASDA (EE). Please note that this unit does not work with 3G only networks such as 'Three'.
